Custom Threshold
For the curved entry door we are doing for the Grapevine residence we also needed to create a custom threshold. Because the door is curved as well as custom-sized we couldn’t use anything existing on the market, nor did we want to make a wooden threshold, as it would be exposed to direct weather as ...
Rare team photo
Back over the winter break we had a few college guys come and work with us while they were away from school. We had a veritable mountain of work to accomplish and we needed some extra hands on deck, specifically young bucks to grind some metal! Big thanks to Paul and Connor for working hard ...
Forged handrail.
We are really getting into far more metal than ever before here lately. It starts with two squared-up blanks, glued up to ensure stability and evenness. The lather must then be set up with the correct pattern ...
Installation progress
Getting more and more done on the double-helical stair! Snapped this last week while we were waiting to drop in the upper finished stair. We are planning on delivering and dropping in the second finished stair later this week. Update: Top image shows the stair as it is now! Got all the trim, railing, and ...
Delivery
Delivered the finished stair halves for the upper run today of the double-helix! The weather was perfect and we were able to get the pieces into the home to acclimate before installation. It was a pretty amazing sight to see the stair on the flat-bed going down the freeway! Lots of people staring and pointing. ...
